About our foodbank
Here is an introduction to our project.
Our foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. We not only provide food via the voucher system but EVERY Centre also runs a FOOD SHARE – which is FREE to anyone in the local community. The food is donated by local shops and companies as it is no longer suitable for sale but is safe and edible, via the FareShare Go system. Each week, for as long as the Centre is open, and the food lasts, anyone can come and pick up free food – no voucher or referral needed! This is to minimise food waste and to encourage people to share in the produce that is available.
